Biloxi & Ocean Springs: Hard Rock, Beau Rivage, and Oak-Lined Streets

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino

We rolled into town and checked into a king room in the Platinum Tower at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. The room felt trendy, and the music we’d requested when we booked was already playing when we walked in — a small touch that always makes arrival feel like the trip has started. The rooms are starting to show a little wear, but they’re still nice.

We popped down to the casino for a bit of gambling, then headed out to enjoy the pool. That Hard Rock pool deck is an easy place to lose an afternoon.

Adventures Pub & Spirits

That evening we ate at Adventures Pub and Spirits in Biloxi — one of our favorite restaurant-bars there. The food is amazing, it’s very affordable, and the beer selection is great. We ordered the Royal Red platter and the chargrilled oysters, and left happy (as usual).

One of our favorite little rituals: walking out of Adventures and catching that view of the Beau Rivage. Never gets old.

Beach day and Shaggy’s

The next day we walked the white sand beaches, then drove down to Shaggy’s for lunch. The food is great, and the views of the Gulf are hard to beat when you’re sitting right on the beach. After that it was more pool time and a little more gambling before calling it a night.

Checking into the Beau Rivage

The next day we checked into a king room at the Beau Rivage. After settling in, we hit the Beau’s pool — it’s quite large — and shared a chipotle chicken wrap while we soaked it in.

Jia and the Biloxi Shuckers

That night we ate at Jia inside the Beau, and it was delicious as always. Then we walked over and caught a Biloxi Shuckers baseball game. It’s one of the nicest minor league stadiums we’ve been in — easy night, good atmosphere, and that Beau glowing in the background.

Ocean Springs

The next day we Ubered down to Ocean Springs. We love the oak-lined streets, the boutiques, bars, history, and restaurants. There’s a vibe there that’s hard to fake — and we already want to come back at Christmas, when we hear they wrap those oaks in lights.

Dinner at Fields Italian was incredible, with massive portions.

Afterward we headed up to the Mirror Bar for an espresso martini and discovered the coolest stairs to a bar we’ve ever seen.

Aerobar at Paradise Pier

On the way back from Ocean Springs we did the Aerobar at Paradise Pier Fun Park. The views were incredible — worth it for the views alone. Then it was back to the Beau for a little more gambling before bed. The casino floor there is vibrant and always full of energy.

Rain day: Catch 110 and Coraline’s

We were supposed to golf at Fallen Oak the next day, but the rain had other plans. Lunch at Catch 110 saved the day — it was delicious. We also wandered some of the shops at the Beau, gambled a bit, and had dinner at Coraline’s inside the hotel. The decor is beautifully done. The food was solid — just not quite as memorable as some of the other places on this trip.

Heading home

The next morning we woke up and headed out of town. On the way out we always stop at Rosetti’s Cafe — they have the best Shrimp Po Boys. Another memorable trip to a beautiful part of the country, and another reminder that Biloxi and Ocean Springs keep pulling us back.

Is Biloxi worth a long weekend?

We think so — Gulf breezes, white sand, casino nights, and Ocean Springs nearby. It’s one of the spots we keep booking again.

Should we stay at Hard Rock or Beau Rivage?

If you can, split the trip. Hard Rock for the pool deck and that check-in music moment; Beau Rivage for the big pool, Jia, and walking over to a Shuckers game with the hotel glowing behind you.

Don’t miss Adventures Pub (Royal Reds and chargrilled oysters), Shaggy’s on the beach, Fields Italian in Ocean Springs, Catch 110 on a rain day, and Rosetti’s shrimp po boy on the drive out.

Is Ocean Springs worth leaving Biloxi for?

Yes. Oak-lined streets, boutiques, Fields, Mirror Bar — and we’re already planning a Christmas trip for the lights on the oaks.

What do you do if it rains?

We lost Fallen Oak to rain and still had a great day: Catch 110, Beau shops, a little gambling, and dinner at Coraline’s.
